About tomorrow’s SFUSD Resource Allocation meeting

Support, be skeptical, cuz pitfalls and history

Tomorrow night is a big #SFUSD on school resources at a Special Board Meeting tomorrow, starting at 6:30 pm. My take follows below. High level: worthy endeavor, many many pitfalls. 💵📚✏️🏫🕵🏼‍♂️⌚️🐶🧵🪡

What is Resource Alignment? Sounds like a product of decades of crap spending and organization. Now the state says y’all can’t weasel out.

Agenda: Trying to lay out the problem. It’s a LOT. It is not closing schools, may be ways out, yo.

Vision: Finally focus on outcomes? Not yet convinced.

Why now? We stank and now somebody’s got to do the job or worse things r coming like state takeover.

Enrollment? False projections in the past. Future is a well-paid wild guess. Maybe down cuz we think it’ll help our job tonight?

Agree here that we are short staff in many crucial areas.

Schools are uneven and we kicked can down the road

Another year in the red and for some weird unknown reason enrollment has not gone up

More money with weak plans didn’t bring better outcomes

Huh. Prove these guardrails

We listen well and do the right things this time cuz trust us once again

We got an Advisory Commission that will check some boxes huh

YES, good goals

Wrapup: The District is trying to do a good thing. We have reasons to be skeptical. Work with em in good faith and see if they can do their job. 💪🏽🙌🏽💕
